Bracers of the Crane

Aura moderate transmutation; CL 7th
Slot wrists; Price 32,000 gp; Weight 1 lb.

DESCRIPTION
These bracers have strips of white leather making up their external surface, cleverly crafted to appear to be the ruffled feathers on the wing of a crane. When the bracers are worn, several of the strips on the outside of the wearer’s forearms appear to stand out further than the rest, though these longer strips are not stiff enough to interfere with clothing sleeves in any significant way.

The wearer of these bracers is treated as if two size categories larger when determining his effective size when using the swashbuckler’s opportune parry and riposte deed, the duelist’s parry class feature, and the size of weapons he could deflect with the Crane Wing, Deflect Arrows, or Snatch Arrow feats.

If the wearer does not have a free hand, he may instead use the Crane Wing or Deflect Arrows feats with a hand wielding a light or one-handed weapon. His effective size category is not increased for any deflections he does with a weapon, and he takes a -2 penalty on attack rolls with that hand until the end of his next turn.

In addition, if the wearer has the Deflect Arrows feat, three times per day as an immediate action he can deflect an additional ranged attack targeting him in a single round. This immediate action uses the wearer’s move action on his next turn instead of his swift action, and the wearer takes a -2 penalty on attack rolls until the end of his next turn.

Fugitive’s Grenade

Aura faint conjuration and transmutation; CL 3rd
Slot none; Price 750 gp; Weight
DESCRIPTION
These small grenades are made from hollowed eggshells filled with assorted powders and reagents and inscribed with magical glyphs. When broken, a fugitive’s grenade creates a 10-foot-radius cloud that lasts for 2 rounds. This cloud is otherwise identical to a fog cloud. A single smoke tendril in the center of the cloud forms a solid-feeling rope, 20 feet long, that functions as a rope trick spell. When the smoke cloud dissipates, so does the smoke rope, though the rope trick’s extradimensional space remains for its full duration. Once the smoke rope disperses, any creatures inside the extradimensional space must jump or climb out by other means. A fugitive’s grenade may be thrown as a ranged touch attack with a range increment of 10 feet.

Hosteling Clay

Aura moderate conjuration; CL 12th
Slot none; Price 7,500 gp; Weight 1 lbs.
DESCRIPTION
In its natural form, hosteling clay appears nothing more than a human fist-sized hunk of potter’s clay. When taken up by a character who possesses a deep connection with another creature and brought into contact with that companion creature, the creature vanishes and the clay transforms into a miniature replica of the creature sculpted from coloured stone. Only creatures bound to a character via the animal companion, familiar, or mount class feature can be affected by a hosteling clay. Once a character has bound a creature to the figurine, he can toss down the figurine and speak a command word, causing the creature to return to its natural state and size. At any time while the creature is in its natural form, the creature’s owner can speak the figurine’s command word and cause the creature to transform back into a miniature. A released animal can take actions on the round it appears. While stored, the animal is sleeping and provides the wearer no benefit (such as a familiar’s skill bonus) and it ages and gets hungry at the normal rate while stored. Hosteling Clay automatically releases a stored animal 24 hours after it was stored inside. If the creature bound to the figurine is killed, the figurine of the concealed companion returns to its unshaped, clay form and can be bonded to another creature.

Mantle of the Blood Ape, Lesser

Aura moderate transmutation; CL 7th
Slot shoulders; Price 12,000 gp; Weight 1 lb.
DESCRIPTION
This short cape of rough, red fur rests upon your shoulders and seems to flood you with the savage majesty of its namesake.
You are treated as one size category larger when calculating your size modifier to your Combat Maneuver Bonus and Combat Maneuver Defence.

You are also considered one size category larger for the purpose of using or being affected by special attacks that depend on size, such as swallow whole and trample, and are able to use combat maneuvers normally restricted by size based as your new effective size category. For example, a Small-sized fighter could bull rush or trip a Large-sized enemy as though the fighter were a Medium-sized creature, despite being otherwise unable to do so as a Small creature.

This change to your effective size category does not stack with any other items or abilities which alter or effectively alter your size category. The mantle does not remove the penalties to Intimidate checks you may take based on size difference, or grant any other bonuses based on size from non-physical interactions.

CONSTRUCTION

Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, enlarge person; Cost 6,000 gp.

Mantle of the Blood Ape, Greater

Aura moderate transmutation; CL 11th
Slot shoulders; Price 32,000 gp; Weight 1 lb.
DESCRIPTION
This short cape of rough, red fur rests upon your shoulders and seems to flood you with the savage strength of its namesake.
While you retain your original size, you are treated as if you were one size category larger than normal. Your reach is not altered, nor the space you occupy, but your Combat Maneuver Bonus and Combat Maneuver Defence are increased, and your natural weapons deal damage as if you were one size category larger. Because your size is unchanged, you do not take the penalties to AC or attack rolls from being larger than your current size.

You are considered one size category larger for the purpose of using or being affected by special attacks that depend on size, such as swallow whole and trample, and are able to use combat maneuvers normally restricted by size based as your new effective size category. For example, a Small-sized fighter could bull rush or trip a Large-sized enemy, as though he were a Medium-sized creature.

This change to your effective size category does not stack with any other items or abilities which alter or effectively alter your size category. The mantle does not remove the penalties to Intimidate checks you may take based on size difference, or grant any other bonuses based on size from non-physical interactions.
