Absence Rules

Replacement NPC
In the event of a player absence, a stand in facsimile will be played in their character’s place. This facsimile will either be a pre-generated character of the nearest class or the actual character using a current character sheet. This character will be played by another player.
Should this character become subject to any effect (cruses, poisons, ability score damage) these conditions will transfer to the absent character upon the player’s return. All aforementioned effects will be subject to the appropriate saving throws, to be tracked by the current Game Master and made by that character’s player. In the event of a stand-in NPC’s death, the character that the NPC was standing in for will be reduced to a hit-point score equivalent to 1/4 its total health upon its return.
The above mentioned NPC will be given a starting action dice pool of two. More dice can be later awarded by the Game Master.

Single Session Module Absence
In the event a player is absent for the duration of a module, with an XP value of 1, they will receive no penalty to their character’s XP. They will instead receive the XP value of the module and an increase in wealth equivalent to the value of the XP increase. This amount of gold will be based on the Wealth By Level / XP chart.

Extended Absence
In the event a player misses multiple sessions in a module some penalties may be incurred.
If a player misses more than one-half of the sessions, required to complete a module, they will receive full XP credit for the module but only an increase in wealth equivalent to the value of the XP increase. This amount of gold will be based on the Wealth By Level / XP chart.
If a player misses more than three-quarters of the sessions, required to complete a module, they will receive XP equivalent to full value less one and an increase in wealth equivalent to the increase in XP. This amount of gold will be based on the Wealth By Level / XP chart.
