Galen was trained as an acolyte in Aroden’s Church, but the god died before Galen ever progressed to being able to cast spells. His old faith in Aroden was reborn when he received a vision that his god’s essence was freed from Pharasma’s clutches. He was the founder and spiritual heart of the Children of the Reborn Glory, the ones whose vision and faith in the rebirth was the most pure. He did not see that others might be in the Children for their own benefit; he is not a fanatic, but neither is he a cynic. He prayed to Aroden using the gems as a conduit for his powers. He did not know that his original vision was a creation of a protean, nor that the protean’s manipulation of him is what allowed him to draw power from the gems.
After the RoundTable Adventuring Guild’s group stopped the ceremony and prevented the rebirth of his god without his ever knowing the reason behind why everything had happened, his faith was finally shattered. Throwing his old holy symbol through the rapidly-closing portal at Gretchen’s feet, he made his way out of the temple through the secret passages and now wanders the realms, bereft of magic that was never his, a tired and shattered man. Will the party ever see him again? All that is known is that both he and the party have made enemies with the failure to allow the ritual to be performed.
